WHY WE MUST GET

BRITAIN BUILDING AGAIN

In the first decade after the Second World War, nearly 500,000 permanent homes were built to tackle the housing crisis.

Today, Britain faces a major housing crisis. The average age of a first-time buyer in Britain is now 34 years old - six years later than in 2007. The average deposit now stands at £53,000.

Meanwhile, the cancellation of HS2 was a hammer-blow to confidence in Britain’s ability to build major infrastructure projects.

The Get Britain Building Coalition is about bringing together organisations committed to helping achieve that Mission, and shaping the role of businesses and organisations as responsible parts of society to build the new homes and sustainable infrastructure we need.

If we can get Britain building again, we will fix the housing crisis and unleash growth.
